I am a professional Finnish genealogist and family history researcher. I live in Hämeenlinna, Southern Finland.
I became interested in genealogy during my childhood in the 1970s, when I began recording relatives’ stories about our family’s history. I have been studying how to conduct research using original sources since the 1980s.
I took my master’s degree in Theology (Old Testament studies) in the University of Helsinki in 1995, which means that I am well familiar with both textual criticism and church records.
As another qualification, I am trained as a music educator in folk music and work as a fiddle teacher. I speak Finnish, Swedish and English.
I am listed in the Genealogical Society of Finland’s Directory of Professional Genealogists and am a member of The Association of Finnish Nonfiction Writers.
I have published several genealogical books and blog writings in Finnish.
