You can contact me if you need any help with Finnish genealogy questions. I can do the research for you if you are interested in the names or occupations of your ancestors, or the places they lived in Finland. Or maybe you already know their names, but you have a court document from 1732, written in old Swedish and Gothic handwriting, and you just need someone to help you translate it.
The rate is €48 per hour, which includes Finnish VAT. You can pay via PayPal or by making a transfer through your local bank. You can check how much €48 is in US dollars, for example, here.
Every research task needs to be planned and discussed beforehand. You can start by emailing terho@asikainengenealogy.fi and letting me know your questions. We can also agree on a certain amount of work, after which you can review the results and decide if you want me to continue with the research.
Regardless of the work your ancestors did, it may be possible to find many different types of information about them. In addition to names and birth dates, I also like to look for details about your relatives’ occupations, places of residence, immigration, and other life events.
If you would like me to combine descriptions from sources such as probate inventories, court records, passenger lists, and newspapers with the basic information, the picture of life in the past can become even more detailed.

Terho provided excellent genealogical services and I will be using him again to learn more about my family’s Finnish heritage. He created easy to read and well cited family write-ups with quality transcriptions. Terho went above and beyond by sharing helpful definitions, explanations, and research pointers as I look into lines of inquiry myself. I’m grateful to have found Terho and was impressed with his professionalism and responsiveness. Highly recommend!! Skylar (February 2021)
